Welcome to the League of Women Voters of Granville County. Our chapter, first founded in 2012, became a full league in 2014 and is affiliated with the North Carolina League of Women Voters. The national League of Women Voters, established in 1920, is one of the most respected community based organizations in the United States. It is non-partisan, dedicated to building citizen participation in the democratic process and protecting voters' rights.
Our Granville County work is funded by membership dues (menu: Join Now) and donations. In the past ten years that work has included: voter education and registration, organizing candidate debates at election time, presenting issue forums to address county concerns (ie. water quality), a biennial event entitled Women Who Make A Difference to recognize civic leaders, celebrations/events commemorating women's history, and a monthly newspaper column tracking the votes of our elected representatives in the NC General Assembly.
